2021 Genesis G90: Large Luxury Sedan with Lots of Power
The state of the full-size sedan segment is a bit strange. It is the pinnacle of the sedan segment, in both the traditional and luxury markets. However, it doesn’t get quite as much attention as the crossover segment does. You may think that this means automakers don’t care about the segment. The 2021 Genesis G90 proves otherwise. Not only is it an extraordinarily well-built and presented sedan, it also houses one of two crazy powerful engines under the hood.
Keep reading to see how much horsepower the 2021 Genesis G90 powertrains produce.
The 2021 Genesis G90 has one of two engines: a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 or a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8. The devilish twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 demands respect with its 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. However, the throaty 5.0-liter V8 (the only vehicle in the segment with a V8, we might add) produces 420 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Not to mention, we love the rumble from the V8. Regardless of the engine you choose, you can pick from either RWD or AWD versions. Both engines are also paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
With all that power comes just as much safety. Every 2021 G90, regardless of trim, has every available safety feature. That suite includes:
- Forward collision warning
- Forward/reverse automatic emergency braking
- Pedestrian detection
- Blind spot monitoring
- Rear cross traffic alert
- Blind spot camera
- Lane departure warning
- Lane-keep assist
- Lane tracing assist
- Front/rear parking sensors
- Surround-view parking camera system
- Navigation-based adaptive cruise control
- Driver attention monitoring
- Safe exit assist
- Automatic high beams
- Automatic windshield wipers
- Heads-up display
